The movie revolves around Kannan bhai and his gang, who are powerful people in a crime-infested town but Inspector Shahul tactfully plots the return of the 'King' to combat this reign and seek revenge.
In an interview with India Today, Dulquer talked about doing massy films with 'King Of Kotha'. "It's a new kind of space for me. I haven't explored the massy and commercial genre in that sense before, but I do believe that it also has substance and great content. It has a deeper story. It's a big film, and we are aiming to reach a wide audience," he said.

On the work front, Dulquer Salmaan made his web series debut with 'Guns & Gulaabs', streaming on Netflix. Directed by Raj & DK, the series also stars Rajkummar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah and Adarsh Gourav.
As per reports, Dulquer Salmaan will be a part of 'Kalki 2829 AD' but did not confirm the rumours when asked by the media. “I can’t reveal anything about Project K. I’ll just tell you, I went to the sets and was blown away (by its grandiose nature). Only Nagi (Nag Ashwin) can think like that. He’s a director who never fails to surprise. Be it 'Yevade Subramanyam' or 'Mahanati' and then he goes on to do Project K, which is set in the future. The sets were so amazing. But I don’t know if I am in the film or not,” he said.
Dulquer was recently seen in the music video of Arijit Singh and Jasleen Royal's song 'Heeriye'.
