Sharing a clip, Trina said, "We want justice. We Demand Severe Punishment IMMEDIATELY." Also, Rwitobroto posted the video of the protest and wrote in Bengali, "I request everyone to watch this video showing the scene at Behala Sarsuna bus stand. It's 1 AM, and we are all gathered. As far as the video can capture, it’s just a crowd scene. People have taken to the streets. We are the so-called underprivileged common people from this area. Today, you so-called loyalists are vandalising RG KAR. Tomorrow, we will again take to the streets. I salute today’s movement. Let’s see how far they can go! This afternoon, there will be a protest at the stage."

On August 9, a postgraduate trainee doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata while on duty. Her body was discovered in the seminar hall of the hospital the following morning. This tragic incident has sparked nationwide protests among doctors and medical communities.

A civic volunteer has been arrested in connection with the crime. In the midst of these developments, Anupam Roy, a final-year MBBS student from Kolkata, accused a mob of deliberately vandalizing the crime scene and has called on the public for support to ensure a safer environment for healthcare professionals. Roy described how, during a peaceful protest that aimed to organize a rally of female nurses, doctors, and students, a large mob disrupted their efforts.
