Kritika Kamra, who will be seen in Gyaarah Gyaarah, had made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with the film Mitron, starring alongside Jackky Bhagnani. However, Kritika was initially set to make her Bollywood debut with a project from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. This film was planned as a Hindi remake of Mira Nair’s Vanity Fair, featuring Reese Witherspoon and Emraan Hashmi, and was to be co-produced by Karan Johar and Ektaa R Kapoor. It was set to be directed by Akshay Roy.
Although the film was ultimately not released, Kritika disclosed that all workshops, trials, and schedules were completed, with everything in place for production. Unfortunately, just days before filming was set to start, the project was unexpectedly canceled due to commercial and business reasons. Recalling about the project, Kritika Kamra told Jagran English, "That was long back, it was supposed to be a film that Akshay Roy was going to direct. We had already met, I had signed it, I had a film deal, and like a multiple film deal, we had signed, done workshops again, trials, everything, schedule, everything was absolutely done. And just a few days before shoot, unfortunately, for some business reasons, for some commercial reasons, they decided to not make that film at that point of time."
"Yes, these things do happen quite frequently. As it stands, I’m currently involved in a show that's a co-production between Dharmatic and Sikhya, so I'm technically working with them now. And of course, if the chance to work with Dharma arises, who wouldn’t want to? Every actor dreams of being a part of such a renowned production house."

Meanwhile, Kritika Kamra is gearing up for her role in the upcoming thriller drama Gyaarah Gyaarah, which also features Raghav Juyal and Dhairya Karwa in leading roles. The series, produced collaboratively by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, is scheduled to premiere on August 9.
Talking about her role, Kritika further told JE, "Wearing a uniform on screen brings a profound sense of pride and responsibility. Many actors have shared similar sentiments about portraying roles like police officers or military personnel. The respect and significance associated with these characters impact how actors embody their roles. As soon as you don the uniform, it changes your demeanor. You naturally stand taller, adopt a more commanding presence, and speak with authority. The uniform carries an inherent weight and meaning, making it impossible to approach the role lightly. This awareness of responsibility drives actors to deliver their performances with utmost sincerity, striving to honor the real-life heroes they represent."
