Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently reacted to the widespread appeal for granting tax free to Chhaava. The historical action drama is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his valour and sacrifice to save Maratha Swaraj. It also shows how bravely he fought against Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. In the movie, Vicky Kaushal played the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The Minister said that he has not watched the movie yet but hearing good things about it. Fadnavis also stated that they will think about granting it tax-free. 

While talking with the media persons, Devendra Fadnavis said, “I am happy that a very good movie has been made on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. While I have yet to watch it, I have heard from people that this film has been made without distorting history.” 

The Minister said, “Maharashtra had already removed the entertainment tax in 2017. We will see what best we can do to promote this film and make it available to as many people as possible.”

The movie also features Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Pradeep Rawat and Santosh Juvekar in key roles. It has been directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. After 5 days of release, Chhaava had a net collection of Rs 171.28 crore.
