Malavika Mohanan is all set to share the screen with Mohanlal in the highly anticipated Malayalam movie Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad. Recently, the actress posted about wrapping up the first schedule and received criticism for the age gap between her and Mohanlal. However, Malavika, who has been in the industry since her debut in 2013, didn't hold back and clapped back at the trolls with a fitting response. She told them to stop judging based on their half-baked, baseless assumptions.
Malavika Mohanan recently shared behind-the-scenes photos from the Hridayapoorvam sets, featuring herself, Mohanlal, and other team members. She provided an update about the movie, saying, "Finished my first schedule of Hridayapoorvam and what a month it was." But her post received mixed reactions. One comment caught her attention, which read, "65-year-old man playing the love interest of a 30-year-old. What is with these veteran actors desperate to play roles that don't fit their ages?" Addressing the age gap issue, the actress responded, "Who told you it’s a love interest? Stop judging people and a film with your half-baked, baseless assumptions."
Recently, Salman Khan also faced questions about the significant age gap between him and Rashmika Mandanna in his recent release Sikandar. So, the industry is no stranger to trolling based on the age gap between actors on-screen.
Hridayapoorvam marks the reunion of director Sathyan Anthikad and Mohanlal after their collaboration in the 2015 film Ennum Eppozhum. The film promises to be a family entertainer with a blend of humour.
Besides this film, Malavika will also be seen in Prabhas's starrer The Raja Saab (Telugu). She also has Sardar 2, starring Karthi, in the pipeline. On the other hand, Mohanlal was last seen in L2: Empuraan, where he received praise for his performance. He also has Drishyam 3 lined up.
