Malayalam OTT Releases In July: The Malayalam film industry has always produced high-quality films. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought even more attention to the content from Mollywood on a national scale. With each release, Mollywood films have experienced growth in their fan base. In order to tap into this expanded audience and maximise their reach beyond Kerala, filmmakers from the industry are now increasingly choosing to release their movies on OTT. This not only allows them to cater to the newfound interest in Malayalam cinema but also provides a revenue channel that ensures broader accessibility.

Dhooman – Amazon Prime Video:

Kolla – Manorama Max:

Dhyan Sreenivasan, Indrans, and Durga Krishna feature in this film which revolves around the character Shiny, played by Durga. Shiny is compelled to shoulder the responsibility of caring for her mother-in-law when their home nurse departs, and this duty becomes a torment for her. Seeking solace, she enters an illicit relationship outside her marriage. However, the situation takes a turn for the worse when her father-in-law becomes involved in the complex dynamics.
Kerala Crime Files – Disney+ Hotstar:
In a lodge, a s*x worker is tragically murdered, leaving the police with a challenging mission: to identify the perpetrator. With only a fake address as their lead, the law enforcement officers embark on a relentless pursuit to solve the perplexing case. Inspired by real events, this six-episode series, directed by Ahammed Khabeer and featuring Aju Varghese and Lal in prominent roles, delves into the intricate process employed by the police in their quest for justice.
Thrishanku – Netflix:
Just as Sethu and Megha make plans to elope, an unexpected turn of events unfolds when Sethu's sister elopes with her college mate. This unforeseen situation prompts a change of plans, as Sethu and his uncles set out on a mission to find his sister. Jackson Bazaar Youth – Amazon Prime Video:
Lukman Avaran, Indrans, and Jaffer Idukki take on the lead roles in this captivating drama-thriller. The story revolves around a community residing in Jackson Bazaar colony, who find themselves in a precarious situation when the government announces plans to expand the national highways, leading to their impending eviction. Charles Enterprise – Amazon Prime Video:

Ayisha, a single mother, overcomes numerous challenges and secures a job as a "gaddama" (domestic help) in a palace in Riyadh. However, her employers soon discover that Ayisha possesses talents and abilities beyond her role as a domestic worker. Manju Warrier portrays the central character in this heartwarming family film, accompanied by Krishna Sankar and Radhika in important roles. Directed by debutant filmmaker Aamir Pallikkal, the movie draws inspiration from the life of Nilambur Ayisha, the pioneering Muslim female theatre artist.
Mea Culpa – Saina Play:
Appani Sarath, Sohan Seenulal, and Teena are the lead actors in this suspenseful revenge thriller that revolves around a man with a mysterious past who begins to stalk a woman. Pachuvum Atbutha Vilakkum – Amazon Prime Video:
