Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal still remains the talk of the town for its aggressive action sequences and 'misogynistic approach' but Bollywood’s critically acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee turns out to be a supporter of the film. On social media, people called the movie ‘problematic’ as it projected men’s aggresive behaviour towards women.

Reacting to the never-ending trolling of the film, the Bhaiyya Ji star said that people should not watch it if they dislike the concept. Manoj also urged people to not create trouble for the movie. He also asserted that there should be open discourse without banning or protesting against any films.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Manoj Bajpayee said “I am very clear if many people disagree or don’t like a film, what’s wrong with that? The film is released, does its business, and moves on. The money goes into the producer’s pocket; let them take it; they invested in the movie.”

“If you don’t want to watch it, then don’t. If you disagree with something, it’s better not to watch it, but don’t create trouble for the movie. You will be only encouraging a bad notion by doing so, what if others hinder your work in the same way? There should be open discourse without calls for bans or protests,” he added.

Earlier, in an interview with the same website, Manoj stated that Article 370 and Animal are entertaining movies. He said, “Idhar jo film dekhi maine, jaise Article 370 dekhi maine ya fir Animal dekhi. Acchi films hai, matlab entertaining hain. (The films I watched here, like Article 370 or Animal, are good films, meaning they are entertaining).”

Helmed by Apoorv Singh Karki, the film also stars Suvinder Vicky, Jatin Goswami, Vipin Sharma, and Zoya Hussain in key roles. Bhaiyya Ji is all set to release in theatres on 24th May 2024.
