The first segment of MET Gala is the red carpet. Celebrities attending the event are dressed up in accordance with the theme of the event. Outrageous clothes, bold looks and mind-blowing attires make up for the biggest social media trends from the gala.

Exhibition Tour

Shortly after the red carpet, the invitees are taken inside to take a look at the exhibition. The theme for this year is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, and has been designed by the famous architect, Tadao Ando.

Cocktails On The House

After the star-studded red carpet event and the overwhelming exhibition tour, the guests are treated with a happy hour at the MET. A cocktail party is organised for the invitees where they let their hair down and interact with other guests.

Black-Tie Dinner

After the cocktail party, the guests are seated for a formal dinner. The biggest part of planning the dinner is to organise who sits with who at the event.

Party planner Eaddy Kiernan told American magazine Vogue in an interview, “We really try to think very carefully about who’s sitting next to each other. Our ideal pairing would maybe be two people who we think will just get on like a house on fire but who may not even realize that they have a lot in common. So, with each person, we really do take time to think, ‘What will they talk about?’ We try to think a lot about sight lines and where people have sat in the past. And we try to make sure someone isn’t staring into the eyes of a former flame.”

Star-Studded Performances

Last but definitely not least, the event gets concluded with performances from the biggest artists on the block. Last year, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, Nicki Minaj were amongst the top performers at the event.
