Miss Universe 2023 redefined the pageant's norms with groundbreaking representations, embracing transgender contestants and plus-size models, marking a pivotal moment in its history. This year's edition, hosted by El Salvador, showcased 84 contenders from across the globe vying for the prestigious Miss Universe crown. The event not only celebrates cultural diversity but also serves as a platform inspiring women to embrace their individuality, making headlines for its inclusive approach to beauty standards.

Miss Nepal Jane Dipika Garrett, made history as the first plus-sized model to compete in the international Miss Universe pageant. At 22, she captivated audiences during the preliminaries held in El Salvador on November 15, showcasing her confidence on the runway.

The girl rocked the ramp in her grey monokini, pictures of which has gone viral on social media. Several appreciated her confidence and looks on ramp. She made history by challenging the conventional image of slender models, showcasing a beautiful and confident plus-size model. Throughout her tenure as Miss Nepal, her steadfast belief in the need to showcase and celebrate beauty in all sizes has been a constant and important subject. However, Garrett's participation sparked immediate controversy.

Garrett, who has a mixed American heritage, proudly advocates for body positivity. "As a curvy woman challenging conventional beauty standards, I'm here to stand for all women," she expressed in an interview with Hola magazine. Her journey as the Miss Nepal titleholder has battled with body image concerns in the past.

"I used to struggle with insecurities and low self-esteem, but now, self-love is my success. I think there’s not one way to be beautiful, every woman is beautiful just as they are," Garrett affirmed, echoing her commitment to embracing diverse forms of beauty.
