‘Mission Raniganj’ Twitter Review: The film stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in the lead role, and marks their second venture after ‘Kesari.’ The film hit theatres on October 6 and is helmed by Tinu Suresh Desai. ‘Mission Raniganj’ is inspired by the 1989 Raniganj coal mine incident, in which several coal mine workers were clogged inside the mine filled with water, due to a sudden blast in the area. The film revolves around the heroic actions of Jaswant Singh Gill, a coal mine officer, who risked his own life and saved his team, with only six unfortunate deaths.

This survival thriller brings back Akshay Kumar in the genre of unsung heroes, as he was recently seen in Amit Rai’s s*x education comedy ‘OMG 2’ alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. ‘Mission Raniganj’ was recently witnessed by the public and critics, who gave the film a high thumbs up, but criticized its shoddy VFX edits.
