Ravi Udyawar directed Mom, and Sunil Manchanda, Naresh Agarwal, Mukesh Talreja, Gautam Jain, and Boney Kapoor produced it. Released in 2017, the film became a massive success, earning Rs 37.28 crore in India and Rs 65 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk. The movie was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 30 crore. The plot follows Sridevi's character, Devaki, who embarks on a mission to ensure that the criminals who sexually assaulted her stepdaughter Arya (played by Sajal Aly) face punishment. The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in key roles. Devaki seeks the help of a detective, Dayashankar Kapoor (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), whom she meets at the police station on the night of the crime. DK, a father of a daughter himself, understands her pain and agrees to help her seek revenge for Arya's ordeal. Akshaye Khanna plays the role of a cop who investigates the case but ultimately helps Sridevi's character take revenge on the criminals.
