Boney Kapoor and the late actress Sridevi's daughters Janhvi and Khushi are following in their mother's footsteps in the film industry. Sridevi made a name for herself in Indian cinema with her memorable contributions to the industry. Her last film, Mom, which was released in 2017, is getting a sequel. Khushi is likely to headline it as confirmed by producer Boney Kapoor.
Boney Kapoor, who attended the silver jubilee celebrations of IIFA 2025 on Sunday, shared that he is planning the sequel to Sridevi's last movie Mom with his daughter Khushi Kapoor. During a media interaction on the green carpet, he said, "I have watched all of Khushi’s films – Archies, Loveyappa, and Nadaaniyaan. I am planning a film with her too after No Entry. It would be a movie with Khushi. It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeed at this same level of perfection."
The movie Mom starred Sridevi in a powerful role. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, it tells a gripping tale of a mother seeking justice for her daughter, which resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike. The late actress's performance was widely praised and even earned her the Best Actress National Award posthumously. Mom remains special for Sridevi's captivating performance and as her final film.
Boney also shared exciting updates about the highly anticipated sequel of No Entry. The producer revealed details about the leading ladies in the movie and mentioned that he would make a formal announcement after finalizing them. He stated, "It (No Entry) will go sometime in July-August. There are too many leading ladies, so I can't just talk about a few now. We have locked a few and have more to go. After we finalize, there will be a formal announcement."
Boney Kapoor is currently producing the sequel to the 2005 hit comedy movie No Entry. Details about the plot and cast remain under wraps, but reports suggest that No Entry 2 will star Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh.
