The first single from the upcoming film Mr and Mrs Mahi, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has been released. The song, titled Dekha Tenu, brings a nostalgic twist reminiscent of the hit movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film is set to hit theatres on May 31.

Dekha Tenu draws inspiration from the iconic Shava Shava from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The romantic ballad, composed and penned by Jaani with vocals by Mohammad Faiz, explores the evolving relationship between the characters played by Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The original creators of Shava Shava, composer Aadesh Shrivastava, singer Udit Narayan and lyricist Sameer Anjaan, are credited with this new rendition. While the song introduces new lyrics, it retains the memorable hook lines from the old classic.

The music video for Dekha Tenu features Janhvi and Rajkummar in a sequence of romantic moments, highlighting their characters' journey from marriage to forming a deep understanding. The visuals also reflect scenes from the film’s trailer, showcasing their heartfelt connection.

Janhvi Kapoor has taken a unique approach to promoting 'Mr and Mrs Mahi', styling herself in cricket and jersey-inspired outfits. Inspired by Zendaya, she has worn eye-catching outfits, including a striking red dress adorned with cricket balls and crop tops featuring the number 6, which is her character Mahi's jersey number.

In Mr and Mrs Mahi, Janhvi Kapoor plays the role of a doctor who is encouraged by her husband, played by Rajkummar Rao, to pursue a career in cricket. The film's title pays tribute to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, affectionately known as Mahi. Janhvi underwent two years of intense training for her role, even dislocating her shoulder in the process. The film aims to honour Dhoni's legacy and will be released in theatres on May 31.

Janhvi Kapoor is set to make her Tollywood debut in 'Devara: Part 1', directed by Koratala Siva and starring Jr NTR. She also has Hindi films 'Uljah' and 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' lined up. Rajkummar Rao, on the other hand, will be seen in the sequel to 'Stree' and in 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video'.
