Mrunal Thakur, known for her work in TV serials and Hindi movies like 'Love Sonia' and 'Super 30', recently opened up about her initial struggles and almost quitting the Telugu film industry after her debut in the language with "Sita Ramam." In a candid interview with Galatta Plus, the actress shared her challenges and how she overcame them.
Not being fluent in Telugu initially posed a significant challenge for Mrunal, who was more accustomed to Hindi and Marathi. She expressed feeling 'handicapped' due to the language barrier, especially during dubbing and lip-syncing. Despite her efforts to learn and adapt, there were moments when she felt overwhelmed and contemplated giving up.

Her debut in Telugu cinema with the 2022 film 'Sita Ramam' was a turning point. Mrunal recalled a conversation with her co-star Dulquer Salmaan, where she expressed her decision to not pursue further projects in Telugu. However, Dulquer's encouragement and support changed her perspective. She credits him for giving her the confidence to explore other languages like Tamil and Kannada.

Following the success of Sita Ramam, Mrunal went on to star in Hi Nanna alongside Nani in 2023, which was also well-received.
Her upcoming Telugu film Family Star, directed by Parasuram Petla and co-starring Vijay Deverakonda, is set to release on April 5. While she is yet to announce more Telugu projects, Mrunal will also be seen in the Hindi film Pooja Meri Jaan.
Despite the initial challenges, Mrunal Thakur's journey in Telugu cinema has been a rewarding one. Her determination and passion for acting have helped her overcome obstacles, making her a prominent figure in the industry.
