Mukesh Khanna, who gained popularity for his iconic Television role Shaktimaan, has been making headlines for several reasons. The actor recently suggested that Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun would be the right choice for the role of Shaktimaan in the sequel. However, he feels that Ranveer Singh won’t be the right one for the role. In a recent interview, Khanna shared that he was contacted by Aditya Chopra’s team many years ago and they wanted to buy the rights of Shaktimaan.
During a chat with Siddharth Kannan for his YouTube channel, Mukesh Khanna said “Ten years ago, I was contacted by Aditya Chopra’s group. They asked me if I could give them the rights to Shaktimaan. At that time, coincidentally, Ranveer Singh’s fan-made picture as Shaktimaan surfaced on social media. And then, suddenly, I got this call for the rights. I said, ‘Rights nahi dunga main (I won’t give the rights). I told them, ‘Tell Aditya, whoever he is, if you want to make it, make it with me’. I didn’t want to give away the rights only for them to make a disco drama. I refused.”
For his YouTube channel, Mukesh said that Allu Arjun will be the right choice for Shaktimaan. He said, “Real life mein bhi acchi look hai, acchi height hai, sirf usko isme villain bana ke rakha hai. Inke baare mein kaha jaa sakta hai, socha jaa sakta hai ki inko lo. Iske chehre pe Shaktimaan laaya jaa sakta hai.”
Kya Aloo Arjun Shaktimaan ban sakta hai ? Ye prashn mere dimag me aaya jab kal hi maine theatre me jaakar Pushpa 2 dekhi. Uttar mila. Socha ja sakta hai. Positive face hai. Accha actor hai. Energetic hai. Young hai.

But mind you main ye naheen kah raha ki ye naya Shaktimaan… pic.twitter.com/lNM0Dl8q1e
Earlier, Mukesh shared his disappointment about the idea of Ranveer Singh playing the role of Shaktiman. He added, “An actor can do all kinds of roles but Shaktimaan isn’t just any role. It isn’t just enough to be an actor to play Shaktimaan. You need to have the correct face. I am stuck at his (Ranveer’s) face, I am not stuck at his talent. People remind me that he has done so much work. He has done Khilji. I told them, ‘He is a good actor but I am not convinced with his face and his appearance.”
