The Maddock Supernatural Universe began with the hit horror-comedy ‘Stree’ in 2018, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. Following its success, ‘Roohi’ and ‘Bhediya’, inspired by Arunachal Pradesh's Yapum legend, continued the trend. Now, the fourth film, ‘Munjya’, is set to release, featuring a CGI character based on Indian folklore and mythology.

Munjya To Have Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan's Cameo?

It is not hidden from anyone that the films in the Maddock Supernatural Universe are interconnected through characters and themes. Abhishek Banerjee, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Aparshakti Khurana return in ‘Bhediya’ from ‘Stree’. In ‘Stree 2’, releasing this August, Varun Dhawan reprises his role from ‘Bhediya’.

The trailer for ‘Munjya’, featuring Mona Singh, Sharvari, and Abhay Verma, sparked fan theories. Viewers speculated that a character named Munni might be Shraddha Kapoor, whose character's name in ‘Stree’ remains unknown.

Fans speculated whether Varun Dhawan would appear in ‘Munjya’ after Sharvari's post with him, captioned, "Bhediya wants to know who is #Munjya’s Munni."

Now, in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, director Aditya Sarpotdar said, “A lot of people said that our film is like a prequel to Stree or a sequel to Stree 2. There were a lot of fan theories. Some even felt like there’s a separate Stree universe and Munjya is a part of it. Making a prequel or a sequel to a hit film is tough and our film isn’t either. There could be connections in my films too. You’ll come to know of that when you see it.”
