Raayan (Amazon Prime Video)
The neo-noir action drama film, marking Dhanush's second directorial venture. The film features Dhanush in the lead role, alongside a talented cast including Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, S. J. Suryah, Selvaraghani, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Saravanan, Dileepan and Divya Pillai. The story revolves around a fast-food restaurant owner in North Chennai who must protect his family when they become entangled in a gang rivalry, leading to unexpected challenges.
GOAT (Netflix)
The Greatest of All Time, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, the film features Vijay in four roles, alongside a stellar cast that includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Parvati Nair, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran. This marks AGS's 25th production and is significant as Vijay's penultimate film before entering politics. The storyline revolves around Gandhi, a former anti-terrorism squad leader, who reunites with his team to confront challenges stemming from their past actions.
Aranmanai 4 (Disney+ Hotstar)
The comedy horror film directed by Sundar C, features an ensemble cast that includes Tamannaah Bhatia, Raashii Khanna, Ramachandra Raju, Santhosh Prathap, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh and Delhi Ganesh.
Soorarai Pottru (Amazon Prime Video)
Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film stars Suriya alongside Aparna Balamurali and Paresh Rawal, with supporting roles from Mohan Babu, Urvashi and Karunas. Inspired by the life of G. R. Gopinath, the founder of the low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan, the film is based on his memoir, Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey. It received widespread critical acclaim and was selected as one of ten Indian films for the Best Foreign Film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards. Additionally, it was featured in the Panorama Section of the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Captain Miller (Amazon Prime Video)
Action-adventure film directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. Marking the first installment of a planned trilogy, the film stars Dhanush in the titular role, alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Priyanka Mohan, Aditi Balan, Edward Sonnenblick and John Kokken in supporting roles. The epic historical action drama film directed by Mani Ratnam, boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Prabhu, R. The Tamil-language action-adventure film directed by Pa. Ranjith, features Vikram in five roles, alongside Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, Pasupathy and Hari Krishnan. Set during the British Raj, the story follows a fierce tribal leader determined to confront a sorceress after aiding a British general in locating gold in their village. While the film received mixed reviews, critics praised the performances of the lead cast—especially Vikram, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Daniel Caltagirone—as well as the storyline, action sequences, and G. V. Prakash Kumar's background score.
