Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala officially announced their relationship after the couple got engaged on August 8. The couple was rumoured to be dating for a few years but never commented on their relationship. Nagarjuna Akkineni recently gave an update on when Chaitanya and Sobhita will tie the knot and revealed the reason behind their hurried engagement.

In an interview with Times Now, the actor talked about Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's wedding and said, "Not immediately. We chose to have a hurried engagement because it was an auspicious day, and since Chay and Sobhita are very sure that they want to marry, we said, let’s do it.”

Announcing Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's engagement, "Nagarjuna wrote, "We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love. Sobhitad chayakkineni."

On the work front, Naga Chaitanya was last seen in the web series 'Dhootha'. While speaking to News18, the 'Premam' star talked about getting out of his comfort zone for 'Dhootha'. He said, "My fans and people have always encouraged and loved me in romantic characters. So when Dhootha came to me, it blew my mind away as this is a genre that I enjoy supernatural thrillers as an audience. As an actor, I haven’t done anything in the past. It allowed me to come out of my comfort zone and push myself as an actor. I want to prove to the audience that I can fit in out of the romantic zone."

The series will reportedly return with its second season.

Sobhita Dhulipala was last seen in 'Made In Heaven Season 2', which is streaming on Prime Video.
