Nani recently opened up about his ‘Mad Max’ statement related to his upcoming movie, The Paradise. Post the teaser release, the Telugu superstar created a buzz with his statement, as he said that the movie would emerge as India’s Mad Max. After his claims, there were speculations that The Paradise would have similar cinematic exposure as the hit Hollywood film. However, explaining the meaning of his statement, the actor stated that he meant the movie is Mad Max (mad maximum).
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nani said, “We are in the prep work right now for The Paradise. We will start shooting soon, and it’s a crazy film. In fact, in one of my interviews, I said the film is Mad Max. Somebody wrote that it is a Mad Max kind of film.”
He continued, “No, it is not Mad Max kind of film. What I meant is its madness in maximum. A lot of people thought it is Tollywood's Mad Max or something, it's not. It is a crazy world Srikanth has built.”
Nani further said, “Srikanth has extremely unique weak points. The highs come from the most unexpected places. And, the way he looks at a particular episode or a scene, I don't think any filmmaker in the Telugu industry will see it like that. They might have their own way of doing it, which might be good. In theatre, the film feeling like a concert and that mad mad energy scene after scene, scene after scene, will be The Paradise. It is that kind of film. I cannot reveal anything more than that, but there a re a lot of unexpected elements which will make them stand and scream. The film has that kind of energy.”
Notably, The Paradise also stars Sonali Kulkarni in the key roles. The movie has been directed by Srikanth Odela, Vinay Sagar Jonnala and Hari K Chanduri. The action adventure drama is set to be released in theatres on March 26, 2026.
