Rishab Shetty recently started a debate among the movie buffs in India after he said that Bollywood shows India in a bad light. Telugu star Nani, who has been promoting 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram', recently reacted to Rishab Shetty's statement and disagreed with him. The 'Hi Nanna' actor revealed that Bollywood sometimes gives more importance to technique and style of filmmaking than emotions but also said that Hindi cinema has some great movies.

While speaking to India Today, Nani first expressed his shock at Rishab Shetty's statement and said, "Did he really say that?” He further added, "I don’t think Bollywood is showing it (India) in negative way. I think what he means is much more rooted stories can be told.”

He further added, "Somewhere, I feel there is a lot of importance given to technique and style of filmmaking (in Hindi cinema) than the emotional aspect of the story. I have felt this in a few films. There are also some great magical cinema in Hindi." Nani further refused to comment on Rishab Shetty's statement as he did not know the context behind it.

For the unversed, Rishab Shetty said, "Cinema is a huge medium, and best way to show social issues and causes. But to make films around such subjects, there is a way. I have noticed, a lot of Indian films, especially the Bollywood, show India in a bad light. Calling it an art film, they go to several International Film Festivals and bag awards and walk the red carpet. But for me, I am proud of my country, state (Karnataka), and language (Kannada). Why should I shy away from promoting our culture in a positive note? Why should I refrain myself from showing the positiveness of our society in a positive manner? I make sure that nothing I show or tell hurts anybody’s sentiments, or shows our country in a bad light. I am extremely conscious about it.”

On the work front, Rishab Shetty was last seen in 'Kantara'. Nani was recently seen in 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram'.
