'Hellbound' is set in 2022–27 in South Korea, where an otherworldly face suddenly starts to materialize to deliver prophecies called decrees that condemn certain individuals to Hell at a specific future time, either seconds or years away.
The first season of 'Hellbound' starred Yoo Ah In as Jeong Jin Soo in the lead role but the actor was recently arrested and exited subsequent to being accused of abusing five kinds of medications, including propofol, hemp, cocaine, zolpidem, and ketamine. Kim Sung Cheol will be seen in 'Hellbound Season 2' and will reportedly play the role of Jeong Jin Soo.
The show is based on the Webtoon of the same name. Speaking to Variety, the creator of the show acknowledged that with the Webtoon now covered, plans for the second season would be going back to the drawing board.
He said, "Because 'Hellbound is based on the original webtoons, my partner Choi Kyu-Seok and I have decided that the story afterwards will be told first through the webtoon and, as for whether we would want to turn that into another live-action series, that’s something that we will need further discussion on. As you know, we have only just released 'Hellbound' Season 1 and so we didn’t have any time to discuss that issue with Netflix. So I would say this is something we need further discussion on.”
'Hellbound Season 2' also stars Kim Hyun-joo, Park Jeong-min, Won Jin-ah and Yang Ik-june.
