NJZ (NewJeans) Hanni recently opened up about the ongoing controversy surrounding the group and its impact on other teams in a new BBC interview. This comes amid the ongoing conflict between HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, with allegations and disputes continuing to stir discussion online.

During the March 26 interview, Hanni acknowledged the difficult circumstances NJZ has faced over the past year, emphasizing that the group engaged in extensive discussions before deciding to speak publicly. She touched on how the situation had unintentionally drawn in other groups — a statement many believe references the earlier plagiarism accusations involving HYBE’s rookie group ILLIT, who faced backlash for allegedly copying NewJeans' concept.

Hanni expressed discomfort over the matter, explaining that while NJZ wanted to avoid causing trouble for other groups, they felt compelled to clarify their side of the story.

“We’re not that comfortable about constantly bringing up the situation because we know it involves another team, and we don’t want to affect that team in any way because there’s no need for that. There really is no need for that,” Hanni stated.

She further explained that staying silent might lead the public to believe false narratives circulating in the media, which pushed the group to speak up despite their hesitation.

The interview sparked intense debate online, with NJZ facing heavy criticism from netizens. Many questioned why the group continued to address the situation through international media rather than allowing legal processes to unfold. Some accused the group of trying to manipulate public opinion, while others felt the repeated interviews came across as reckless.
