The 71st National Film Awards winners were recently announced and the list of talented recipients is impressive. Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey are set to share the Best Actor award for their outstanding performances in Jawan and 12th Fail, respectively. The awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in New Delhi on September 23, promises to be an exciting celebration of Indian cinema. 

SRK, Vikrant Massey, Rani Mukerji to attend 71st National Film Awards ceremony

It's expected that many of the winners, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Vikrant Massey and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, will attend the ceremony. According to reports, other notable winners, such as Karan Johar, whose film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani won Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and Shilpa Rao, who received the Best Female Playback Singer award for her soulful rendition of Chaleya in Jawan, are also likely to be in attendance.

According to Bollywood Hungama, a source said, "The 71st National Film Awards will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 4:00 pm. As always, it’ll be held in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The winners and jury members were informed about the time, date and venue through an official letter and invitation. As per the protocol, the invitees can avail of flight tickets, accommodation and pick up and drop from Delhi airport; the same has been mentioned in the letter."

Shah Rukh Khan, on winning the National award, took to social media to share a heartfelt video thanking the government, the jury, and his legion of fans for winning the National Award for his 2023 film Jawan directed by Atlee. The actor captioned the post with emotion and signature charm, "Thank you for honouring me with the National Award. Thanks to the jury, the I&B ministry… Iss samman ke liye Bharat Sarkar ka dhanyawaad. Overwhelmed with the love showered upon me. Half a hug to everyone today."

SRK has cemented history by winning his first National Award for Best Actor in a career of over 33 years- a recognition long awaited.
