Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has once again come forward to support people in need, this time extending help to families in Punjab who are suffering after devastating floods. His charitable organisation, the Meer Foundation, has partnered with local NGOs to deliver relief kits to those who have lost their homes, farmland, and belongings in the disaster. The initiative covers around 1,500 households across four districts, providing not just immediate aid but also resources to help them rebuild their lives. SRK’s gesture has been widely praised as a much-needed ray of hope in a time of crisis.

Meanwhile, the floods in Punjab have been triggered by overflowing rivers including the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi, combined with heavy rainfall from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. This has submerged more than a thousand villages, damaged vast stretches of farmland, and left thousands of families displaced. For many, the future looks uncertain, with food, shelter, and health facilities becoming immediate concerns. Against this backdrop, Shah Rukh Khan’s decision to step in through the Meer Foundation has brought relief to many families struggling to survive.

According to reports, the relief kits distributed include a wide range of essentials such as food items, medicines, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, tarpaulin sheets, folding beds, and cotton mattresses. These items have been chosen carefully to ensure both immediate health and safety, as well as temporary shelter solutions for those whose homes have been damaged. By focusing on practical and urgent needs, the initiative goes beyond symbolic help and ensures direct assistance to those who need it most.

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan had expressed his solidarity with Punjab on social media. Sharing his thoughts on X and Instagram Stories, he wrote, “My heart goes out to those in Punjab impacted by these devastating floods. Sending prayers and strength… The spirit of Punjab shall never break… may God bless them all.” His heartfelt message, combined with on-ground action, reflects his consistent approach of combining compassion with concrete support.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan is not the only Bollywood star stepping in. Salman Khan’s Being Human Foundation has also reportedly sent rescue boats to assist ongoing operations. Even singers from Punjab are said to be uniting to contribute, putting aside their differences for the sake of their communities.
