Sitaare Zameen Par starring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, has been receiving positive response ever since its theatrical release on June 20. The movie surpassed Rs 50 crore mark at the box office within a few days. It seems like Aamir's decision to release the movie exclusively in theatres, skipping the digital premiere, has surely worked in his favour. This decision made ahead of Sitaare Zameen Par's release was lauded by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI). They stated, how Aamir's decision to support theatrical releases highlights the timeless magic of cinema, even as media and distribution platforms become more fragmented. Now, the actor has expressed gratitude towards MIA on social media.

Aamir Khan's Production house on Instagram shared an appreciation post by MAI on the film's theatrical release decision. Along with the post, he wrote, "Grateful for the overwhelming love and support MAI #SitaareZameenPar"

Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Performance
The spiritual successor to 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, earned Rs 29 crore on its first Sunday while bringing the total collection to Rs 59.90 crore net in India, From opening with an amount of Rs 10.7 crore to crossing the Rs 50 crore mark, Sitaare Zameen Par has shown rise in numbers, according to Sacnilk report.
R.S. Prasanna brought the story of a basketball coach and his journey training neurodivergent individuals for matches. Besides Aamir and Genelia Deshmukh, the makers introduced 10 new faces in the movie, which has touched the audiences with their performances.
