Aamir Khan recently shared the real reason behind Imran Khan's break from Bollywood. The superstar stated that his nephew finds it difficult to fit into the mainstream construct. The ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ actor once shared with his uncle that he is not comfortable with ‘herogiri’, which is why he left the industry 10 years ago. For the unversed, Imran Khan was last seen opposite Kangana Ranaut in Katti Batti in 2015.

Aamir Khan said, in an interview with Indian Express, "Yes, Imran has a certain creative instinct. He finds it difficult to fit into the mainstream construct we have." Talking about Imran’s craft, the Dangal actor made it clear that he was built for performing unique and real roles that can bring out his natural side as an actor.

Aamir also mentioned, “That’s not his natural space. Which is why he’d do really well in a film like Jaane Tu and Delhi Belly (2011). He’s in his element there. But the moment you put him into a regular Hindi film, he won’t fit. He’s not comfortable with herogiri. He wants to play a real person. Everybody was offering him mainstream films because he’s good-looking. But he wants to be an actor and not a star."

Imran started his acting career at a young age, by playing the younger version of Aamir Khan in movies like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Apart from being the main lead in movies like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Imran has left a great impact by showcasing his talent in films like Kidnap, Luck, I Hate Luv Storys, Break Ke Baad, Delhi Belly, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.

After his last appearance in 2015 movie Katti Batti, the actor went on a break. Reportedly, Imran Khan is going through scripts to make a comeback in the industry. He was going through Disney+ Hotstar’s spy series, helmed by filmmaker Abbas Tyrewala. The web series, however, has been dropped for some unknown reason.
