Many people have come forward to share their opinions in the Hindi film industry since Deepika Padukone's claimed demand for an eight-hour shift after she left Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2. Adah Sharma has offered her thoughts on the controversy that started when Deepika Padukone insisted on working eight hours. The Kerala Story actor stated in an exclusive interview with The Daily Jagran that she has other problems and hasn't yet reached the stage where she can consider this to be an issue.
Adah Sharma said, "For her and her producer, it's a different thing but I will tell you about me, I'm not at that place yet." The actor reflected on how her concerns as an actor have changed over time. Before The Kerala Story released, she often worried about whether she’d even get a good role. Gradually, that concern shifted to finding a project with a strong director. Later, even after landing a good film and completing a proper shoot, another worry took over — would the producers be able to release it in theatres and ensure it reached the audience? These were some of the thoughts that stayed with her as she navigated her career.
Adah Sharma further explained, "For me, to be honest, 12 hours a day, even if I was exercising or if I was eating food, mera mind wohi soch raha tha ki movie milegi, achi milegi, kesi milegi, mein toh socialise nahi karti hoon, mein kisi ko jaanti nahi hoon, movie mujhe kese milegi."

The actor shared, "Mera problem kuch aur hi hai. I've not reached the problem jahan par 8 hour shift is a problem. I've not reached there yet."
All About Deepika Padukone's 8-Hour Shift Demand
A row started a few months ago when Deepika Padukone demanded to work eight hours. Following this, she was compelled to leave two big banner movies, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2. Months after the news first came, Deepika Padukone opened up the work-life balance.
Speaking to Brut, she said, "In the Indian film industry, there are a lot of male actors who have been working on an 8-hour shift for years, and it has never made headlines. I don’t think what I am asking for is ridiculously unfair. I think only someone who has worked in the system enough will know the conditions that we work in. I am saying this as if I may say so…a top star. Imagine what the working conditions must be like for everyone else in the crew."
Deepika Padukone added, "Beyond that, I am not the first one who’s asked for something like this. In fact, there are numerous actors within the industry and other industries and professions. Even in the Indian film industry, there are many male actors who have been working on an 8-hour shift for years. It’s never made headlines."
