In a shocking turn of events Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. On Thursday, the aircraft sent up massive plume of black smoke after it plunged into the Meghani area of the city. The cause of the crash is not known yet. There were 242 passengers onboard, including two pilots and 10 cabin crew members. Meanwhile, celebrities have expressed their shock on social media.

Celebs express shock over plane crash in Ahmedabad

Shah Rukh Khan took to his official X account and wrote, "Absolutely heartbroken with the news about the crash in Ahmedabad… my prayers for the victims, their families and all affected."

Salman Khan cancelled his event in solidarity with the incident. Salman was to be announced the brand ambassador of the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL). "As you all know, a tragic incident occurred earlier in the day. It's a sad time for everybody. ISRL and Mr Salman Khan stand by united with the nation in these tough times. We have taken a responsible joint decision to reschedule this event as its not a time for celebration," said the organisers.

Alia Bhatt wrote on her IG Story, "This is devastating. My heart aches for all the passengers and crew… thoughts and prayers for everyone on board and their loved ones… (broken heart and folded hands emoticons)."

Anushka Sharma wrote on Instagram, "Saddened to hear about the plane crash today. Thoughts and prayers with the passengers and their families."

Sunny Deol wrote on X (formerly Twitter, “Devastated by the news of the plane crash in Ahmedabad. Praying with all my heart for survivors — may they be found and receive the care they need. May those who lost their lives rest in peace, and may their families find strength in this unimaginable time.”

Riteish Deshmush expressed condolences to those affected in the tragic incident. "Absolutely heartbroken and in shock after hearing about the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. My heart goes out to all the passengers, their families, and everyone affected on the ground. Holding them all in my thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time," he wrote on X.

Parineeti Chopra wrote, “Can’t imagine the pain of the family members of the ill fated Air India flight today. Praying for God to give them strength during this time.”
