Ajey- The Untold Story of a Yogi, an upcoming biopic on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is set to hit theatres in August. Earlier, it was slated for release in June, coinciding with UP CM's birthday but movie buffs will have to wait a little longer to watch the inspiring journey packed with struggles, sacrifice and action drama. To bring the story to the big screen, actor Anant Joshi will portray Yogi Adityanath in the biopic. To fully match the resemblance, he took a bold step of shaving his head, a decision that was not easy for him.

Anant shared that his transformation went beyond physical change, involving an emotional detachment from something he was deeply attached to. He told IANS, “Losing it wasn’t just a cosmetic change — it was letting go of a part of myself. But this role demanded that sacrifice. I knew I couldn’t fake it. I had to live it. I had to become Yogi, not just act like him."

What Is The Story Of Ajey All About?

The film is helmed by Ravindra Gautam, known for delivering shows like Maharani 2, and this project is backed by Ritu Mengi. Alongside Anant Joshi, the biopic stars Paresh Rawal, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Ajay Mengi, Pavan Malhotra, Rajesh Khattar, Garima Vikrant Singh, and Sarwar Ahuja in pivotal roles. Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi is a cinematic tribute to Yogi Adityanath's inspiring life. Documenting his journey from a young Ajay Singh Bisht to his transformation into a powerful political figure in India. The upcoming biopic is inspired by Shantanu Gupta's bestselling book, titled The Monk Who Became Chief Minister. When To Watch Ajey- The Untold Story Of A Yogi?

Anant Joshi's starrer is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 1, 2025. It will be screened in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Makers are all set to drop the teaser.
