Dhurandhar broke box office records and received accolades from celebrities in a variety of fields. Following Rajinikanth, Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and Kangana Ranaut, actor Akshay Kumar has praised the Ranveer Singh film, calling it 'beautifully made'. He added that the films directed by Aditya Dhar are 'very well-knit'.
Akshay Kumar discussed the effects of Dhurandhar in a discussion on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel. "It goes on the way about the country… it is a very well-knit film. Every answer is answered. Obviously, saaf pata chalta hain ki unko pata tha bohot saari cheeezein unko bohot jagahon se mili hain aur unhone uss film ko leke banaya. The reality of it, what kind of things they wanted to show," he said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Akshay Kumar said he hopes to be part of a film like Dhurandhar someday. He also praised its larger-than-life storytelling while staying rooted in reality. He added that cinema is evolving, and he would like to explore such projects.
Akshay Kumar added, "What happened in Pakistan, what happened in India… how they were dealing with it… How one agency works against the other agencies… beautifully made. Larger than life, also. Catching the real thing, putting a larger-than-life cinema into it, and expanding it. Cinemas are changing. Kabhi mauka milega aisi cinema mein kaam karne ka."

In the meantime, Akshay Kumar is enjoying the accolades for his most recent Friday release, Bhooth Bangla. After 14 years apart, he and director Priyadarshan are reunited in the horror-comedy. Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu are also featured in the movie. In India, the movie has already made Rs 64.75 crore.

The two-part spy thriller franchise, directed by Aditya Dhar, has made over Rs 3,000 crore at the box office globally. December 2025 saw the release of the first installment, and March 2026 saw the release of the second.

It described how an Indian spy infiltrated Pakistan's criminal and political underbelly in Karachi. Many real-life incidents involving geopolitical tensions, including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and the events surrounding Operation Lyari, were interwoven into the plot. In the follow-up, Ranveer Singh's character received training to become Hamza Ali Mazari. Additionally, it advances the plot by depicting him seizing control of Lyari's power structures while attempting to destroy a terror network in Pakistan that poses a threat to India.
