Bhooth Bangla Movie Release: One of the most highly anticipated films of 2026, Bhooth Bangla, is currently generating massive excitement across the film industry. The project marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after a 14-year hiatus. Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures, the film aims to recapture the magic of the duo’s previous cult classics, which defined the golden era of Indian horror-comedy.

The recently unveiled trailer has already taken the internet by storm, quickly reaching the No. 1 trending spot on YouTube and amassing millions of views across various platforms. Fans have praised the trailer for its nostalgic charm, seamless blend of impressive visuals, effective jump scares, and quirky humour. The film features a stellar ensemble cast, bringing back iconic comedy veterans Paresh Rawal, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav, while introducing a fresh on-screen pairing between Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi.

Akshay Kumar Shares Distingution Between Bhooth Bangla And Bhool Bhulaiyaa

During recent promotional events, Akshay Kumar addressed the inevitable comparisons to his 2007 hit, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. He clarified that while both films share a spooky atmosphere, their genres are fundamentally different. Akshay Kumar stated, "Bhoot Bangla is a horror-fantasy film, similar to a Disney movie. Bhool Bhulaiyaa was psychological thriller. Initially it appears that the girl is possessed but later it is revealed that she has a mental problem. In Bhooth Bangla we explain who Vadhusur is and why he acts like this. This film is also made for children."

While discussing his history with horror films, Akshay Kumar shared a lighthearted story regarding his son, Aarav Bhatia, and the lasting impact of Vidya Balan’s performance as Manjulika. He recalled, "When my son saw Bhool Bhulaiyaa for the first time, he was afraid of Vidya Balan for six years. Whenever she came to our house, he refused to meet her and wouldn't look her in the eye. he saw 'Manjulika' in her. I had to explain to him that she wasn't Manjulika but Vidya and a very nice person, but he wouldn't believe it."

Produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor, Bhooth Bangla is poised to be the year's biggest entertainer. Fans won't have to wait long, as paid previews are set to begin in theatres on 16th April 2026 from 9 PM onwards.
