Race 4 Updates: Akshaye Khanna is riding high on the success of Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar, which has taken the box office by storm. Following the success of his latest venture, the actor is gearing up for his much-awaited Telugu debut, Mahakali. Fans can't get over his portrayal of Pakistani gangster Rehman Dakait in the Ranveer Singh-starrer spy thriller. Amid this, fans are waiting for the announcement about his upcoming projects and are keen to know whether he is returning to Race 4. Now, producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed that there is no scope for the actor returning for the fourth instalment of the franchise.

Akshaye Khanna Not Part Of Race 4

The fourth instalment of the hit Race franchise is currently in the works, and reports had suggested that original leads, including Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan from Race (2008), would return. However, producer Ramesh Taurani has put these rumours to rest with his latest statement. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Taurani clarified that they have not approached Akshaye Khanna for Race 4.

He said, "No, we have not approached Akshaye. There was no scope at all. There is no thought about getting him. His character gets into an accident in the first movie, his track ended there, and it will remain at that."

Sidharth Malhotra To Join Saif Ali Khan In Race 4?

When asked whether Sidharth Malhotra and Saif are confirmed to star in Race 4, Ramesh Taurani clarified that no cast has been finalised yet. He said, "No cast has been finalised till now. The work on the script is on."

The rumours about Sidharth Malhotra being part of Race 4 began after Taurani shared an official statement, revealing that Sidharth and Saif were being considered for the fourth chapter of the franchise.

In April last year, speculation about Harshvardhan Rane and Rakul Preet Singh being roped in for the film arose, which led the makers to release an official statement addressing rumours about the casting of Race 4.

The statement read, "We would like to clarify that we are currently in discussions only with Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra for the next instalment of the Race franchise (Race 4) which is currently in its scripting phase. No other male or female actors have been approached at this stage. We sincerely request the media and social media pages to avoid engaging with false news and to wait for an official confirmation from our PR team."
