The Punjabi artist has ruled over people’s hearts for a decade, and talking about the same, the Dholna singer expressed that now he feels like a senior. According to a report in Hindustan Times, Ammy feels, “Ab to senior si feeling aa rahi hai. Main Suneya singer also shed light on people’s perception about Sardar artists and shared that with the success of stars like Diljit Dosanjh, people’s point of view has changed. “Now we are being approached to play heroes and not just a Sardar character in Bollywood. Up until a decade or so ago, Sardars were used in Hindi films just for comedy or gags. What we were not, we were shown as that. We would question why are they showing us like that? But over time, they recognised the potential of Punjabi stars.”

Talking about choosing careers in two related fields, Ammy explained that when the Bollywood industry started in the 30s and 40s, all the actors first began their journey as singers and chose to become heroes later on. He also revealed that this culture was also followed in Punjab. He suggested that it's always advantageous for a filmmaker to cast an actor who was a singer first, as the artist already knows how to face the camera and work around it.
