At the Hindi trailer launch of Dacoit, Adivi Sesh praised Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, even as its sequel is set to clash with Dacoit on March 19. Speaking to the media, Sesh compared Dhurandhar’s depiction of the 26/11 attacks with Major, in which he portrayed martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, noting that the film helped him understand the events from a different perspective.
According to a report in News18, Adivi Sesh addressed the press, saying, "I even tweeted about Dhurandhar. Aditya sir is a good friend of mine. I had researched so much on the 26/11 attacks and the Black Tornado operation. But to know the Pakistani side of things was a new experience for me. I thought Dhurandhar is an extraordinary film. It thoroughly deserves to be India’s biggest film of the moment. I’m so proud that so many people are watching the film. It’s a proper word-of-mouth hit."
Like Yami Gautam Dhar and Shraddha Kapoor, Adivi Sesh also praised the makers for steering clear of corporate and block bookings, as well as flashy marketing strategies, while promoting the film. He further added, "People are turning up in genuine numbers. There’s no booking involved. I’m so proud of Aditya’s film and everything that he has achieved. He has an extraordinary value system. I’m planning on watching it for the second time tomorrow with my family."
Adivi Sesh also took to social media and shared how much he loved Dhurandhar. "Late to the party in watching the country’s biggest film but it’s so well done. It’s an amazing achievement from you Aditya Dhar sir to show so many greys with subtlety. Absolutely international presentation on such a relevant topic. As someone who researched 26/11 so much for Major, it was an entirely new experience for me to see how the ISI’s handlers were empowered by the Lyari underworld. My heart broke and my blood boiled when I saw that (sic)."

"The extraordinary music, international cinematography, and overall craft made for a memorable experience. I’ll be watching it again soon," he further added.
Ssh said, "I had received three war film offers in Bollywood. I went to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan sir’s parents and told him that his life story is very important to me. I couldn’t keep doing only soldier stories. It would have felt like ‘usage’. It was important that I do just one war film. That’s also why I did Dacoit because it’s a very, very different film. It’s a little more commercial than Major but the passion with which we made both the films is the same."
