Anupamaa Vs Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: Ektaa Kapoor's popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has marked a grand return to television. Ever since the announcement of Smriti Irani's show, there have been comparisons with Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa, one of the trending family dramas on Star Plus. Fans thought Kyunki reboot would be a threat to Rupali's show, but the actress has a different take on it. She praised Smriti's show and called it a nostalgic and proud moment.
Rupali Ganguly On Anupamaa Vs Kyunki Comparison
Rupali reacted to the comparisons rumours by calling it unfair, stating it's a moment to celebrate Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's return. In an interview with Telly Talk India, Anupamaa actor said, “Ekta ji ka badhapan hai ki woh itni achi achi baatein kar rahi hai. Yeh sach hi hai. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is nostalgia. Hum sab ke liye badi garv ki baat hai ki woh humare channel pe show wapas aa raha hai. I don’t understand how can you compare Anupamaa with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi."

Her statement comes after Ektaa Kapoor's reaction to the ongoing comparison between her show and Anupamaa. In conversation with Brut, the producer stated, “Yesterday, I was seeing some videos about Anupamaa having a problem with Kyunki’s coming. I felt that was such bad taste. She (Rupali Ganguly) is such a big star. Anupamaa, the show, Rajan, the creator, have done what nobody else could do in the last 7 years. They continue to be number 1, and they should continue to be number 1. We are coming with our purpose to tell our story."
“These unfair comparisons between lead characters and lead shows are so unnecessary. I think pitting women against each other, pitting content against each other, is so uncalled for," Ektaa added.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 finally premiered on July 29 and its first episode has received a rave response from the audience, with many stating it as an emotional and nostalgic moment. The old and new characters seem to have again built their place in the hearts of the viewers, just like they did 25 years ago. Smriti Irani’s comeback with her iconic character Tulsi, performing the same old rituals with other cast members, including Amar Upadhyay, Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, Shagun Sharma, Shakti Anand, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan in key roles, has been well received. Viewers can watch Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 live during its TV premiere on Star Plus and can also stream it on Jiohotstar.
