Anushka Sharma has been away from the silver screen for quite some time. She has been keeping herself busy, embracing motherhood with her children, Vamika and Akaay. However, she is often seen in the stands cheering for her husband and Indian star batter Virat Kohli. When both partners have demanding careers, finding harmony between marriage and work life can be a challenge. Anushka once recalled her early days of married life with Virat and how they made efforts to spend time with each other.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married on December 11, 2017, in an intimate ceremony in Italy. Despite being newlyweds, the two were able to spend less time with each other. In an interview with Vogue India, the actress shared, "In the first six months of our marriage, we only spent 21 days together. Yes, I actually calculated. So when I visit him overseas, it’s to squeeze in that one meal together. It’s precious time for us."

Anushka has often been on the receiving end of criticism for visiting Virat, such visits were assumed to be gateways. But she clarified by saying, “People assume when I’m visiting Virat or when he’s visiting me that it’s a holiday, but it’s really not. One person is always working."

The actress was last seen in the Zero movie, which co-starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. After her back-to-back projects and balancing married life, she decided to take a break from work to avoid burnout. Anushka told Simi Garewal in a interview, “I wanted to take a couple of months off after Zero. After I got married, it was like a whirlwind. I was back on the sets shooting for Sui Dhaaga and later Zero. I was just working back-to-back. Whatever time I’d get, I’d try to balance and meet Virat. But I was feeling too worked up. I told my team I don’t even want to read anything right now."

Anushka Sharma is going to make a return to the big screen after a long hiatus with cricket et drama Chakda Xpress. The movie centres around the inspiring journey of India's pacer Jhulan Goswami. The movie reportedly has been on halt after filmmakers are looking for a platform to release it. Earlier, it was slated to release on Netflix. This might be due to reported creative differences and budget issues between streaming platform and the film's production, Clean Slate Filmz.
