Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor dated for almost six years before they parted ways in 2024. However, the duo seems to be on good terms as Malaika shared a special for her ex-boyfriend on his 40th birthday today, June 26. After the breakup, Malaika remained silent about it, while Arjun confirmed that he was single during an event for his film Singham Again. However, her latest post for him has sparked reconciliation rumours.

Malaika dropped a fun candid boomerang of Arjun Kapoor on her Instagram story. In the clip, he can be seen wearing a white shirt and black jeans while jumping and posing for the camera. Along with the post, she wrote "Happy Birthday."

Malaika and Arjun began dating in 2018 and the duo officially confirmed it in 2019. Despite their public appearances, the couple kept it low-key but showed their love on social media by sharing photos from their vacations and each other's work. Malaika stared dating Arjun, after her split from actor Arbaaz Khan. They have been co-parenting their son Arhaan since their divorce. However, last year, rumours of the couple's breakup emerged online. This followed Malaika skipping her wish for the actor on his birthday and on the same day, she shared a cryptic note on her Instagram, stating "I like people that I can trust with my eyes closed and my back turned."

The speculations were fuelled when Arjun responded to his relationship status. During the Diwali party hosted by politician Raj Thackeray at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, the actor was seen reacting to the crowd’s cheers of Malaika’s name. In the viral videos, he was heard saying “Nahi abhi single hoon. Relax karo (No, I'm single now. Relax)," hinting at rumours of his separation from Malaika.

Later, Malaika reacted to her ex-boyfriend’s 'single' viral statement. She opened up about how she prefers not to have her personal out there in public. Earlier, in a interview with ETimes, she said, “I am a very private person, and there are certain aspects of my life which I don’t want to elaborate on much. I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative."

Following the breakup, Arjun was seen supporting Malaika after the demise of her father, Anil Mehta, in September 2024. He made frequent visits to her and her family during that tough time.
