Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal will reportedly get married soon. Just weeks after their wedding postponement, rumours have started to circulate online that the couple will tie the knot on December 7, 2025. As online speculation swirled, Smriti Mandhana's brother Shravan set the record straight: there's no truth to the latest wedding date rumours.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the cricketer's brother has confirmed, "I have no idea about these rumours. As of now it (the wedding) is still postponed."
The planned wedding ceremony in Sangli was abruptly and dramatically interrupted on the morning it was scheduled to occur due to an unforeseen medical crisis. The ceremony was halted after the bride's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a serious medical emergency and had to be immediately rushed to the hospital. Compounding the stressful situation, the groom, Palaash, was also subsequently hospitalised.

His hospitalisation was reportedly a result of the extreme emotional distress and stress triggered by the day's devastating events and his strong reaction to Smriti's father's sudden health scare. Palaash's mother later provided an update, confirming that he required intravenous (IV) support and underwent a battery of tests before eventually being discharged from the medical facility.

The postponed wedding sparked wild online speculation, with cheating allegations flying after alleged screenshots leaked. Smriti Mandhana deleted engagement posts and removed Palaash-related tags, fuelling the drama. Two choreographers, Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan, denied involvement, calling the rumors "fabricated and harmful".
So far, neither Smriti nor Palaash has released an official statement regarding the circulating cheating rumours. Their only joint public action has been a subtle modification to their Instagram profiles, where they both added an evil-eye emoji. This modification appears to be their indirect response to the ongoing negativity and intense speculation directed at them.
