Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga Sequel: Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam are reportedly all set to return together for the much-anticipated sequel to Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. The 2023 crime thriller, produced by Dinesh Vijan, became a surprise hit on Netflix and was praised for its fast-paced story and gripping heist drama. Now, reports suggest the duo will reunite for Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2, with the plot shifting to an even riskier setting a luxury cruise in the middle of the ocean.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the makers have locked the script for the sequel and plan to start filming towards the end of 2025. While Sunny and Yami will reprise their roles, the supporting cast is yet to be finalised. The report revealed, “The script is ready, and the makers are in talks with several actors to join the project. Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam are confirmed to return, and the heist this time will unfold on a cruise.” The first film revolved around a high-stakes robbery on an aeroplane, which kept viewers on the edge of their seats. The sequel promises to raise the tension even further, as the new heist takes place on international waters. “With the robbery set in the middle of the ocean, the drama will be bigger, more thrilling, and full of unexpected twists. Much like the first part, it will mix suspense with comic elements to keep the audience hooked,” the report added.
Meanwhile, another interesting development is that unlike the original, which was released directly on Netflix, the sequel is being considered for a theatrical release. The makers reportedly plan to rent an actual cruise for a marathon shooting schedule. A final decision on whether the film will go to theatres or streaming platforms will be made closer to production, but the intention currently leans towards a big-screen experience.
