Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is enjoying an extraordinary run both in cinemas and now on streaming. Within just five days of its release on Netflix, the film has scripted history by becoming the most-watched non-English title on the platform worldwide. According to Netflix’s official data tracker Tudum, Saiyaara is currently trending at number one globally in the non-English films category. The film has clocked an impressive 3.7 million views, translating into 9.3 million hours of watch time. In doing so, it has overtaken the German erotic thriller Fall For Me and Netflix’s Hindi original Inspector Zende, starring Manoj Bajpayee. While Fall For Me holds the second spot with 6.5 million hours, Inspector Zende sits at number three with 6.2 million hours. Another Indian entry in the global top ten list is Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, which is ranked ninth with 2.5 million hours.

On Wednesday, Netflix India shared a heartfelt video from the lead pair Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, where they expressed gratitude to audiences for making their film a global hit. In the clip, the two said, “For giving Saiyaara all the love in the world, we love you forever and ever. Saiyaara is trending globally on Netflix only because of you. Thank you for watching and rewatching.” Their message reflects the overwhelming support and repeated viewing the film has received across markets. The success of Saiyaara on Netflix has exceeded industry expectations. While the film had already established itself as a major box office success, its rapid rise to the number one spot on a global streaming platform highlights the growing international appeal of Indian romantic dramas. Very few Indian films have managed to break into Netflix’s worldwide top three, let alone secure the top position.
