Arijit Singh has once again shined the brightest with his talent. The melodious singer was recently crowned as the most followed artist in the world, beating global stars like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, BTS, The Weeknd and more. Previous year, the singer’s follower count was 118 million, with sensational songs like Tum Hi Ho, Kesariya, and Tum Kya Mile dominating the charts. This year’s melodies like Dhun from Saiyara, Jaane Tu from the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava, and others have helped him bag the first position on Spotify.
Arijit Singh surpassed Taylor Swift on Spotify on July 1, 2025, according to Chart Master. British singer Ed Sheeran has occupied the third position on the list. Arijit became the first Indian music artist to cross 100 million followers on Spotify in January, 2024. He’s now beaten some of the biggest Western names, including Ed Sheeran (121 million), Billie Eilish (114 million), and The Weeknd (107.2 million). More popular singers like Ariana Grande (105.8 million) and Eminem (101.7 million) joined the list this year. Kpop legends BTS is currently at 80 million.

The Indian singer’s win on the music chart is a loud reminder that his influence and soulful melodies go across the border as well. This news is nothing more than a milestone for the singer and the entire nation. Recently, he teamed up with Ed Sheeran, whose music is very popular in India, to release the latest song, Sapphire, which also featured Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo. Apart from Arijit Singh, another Indian singer and composer, AR Rehman, made it to the top 20 list with 49 million followers.
