A Patiala district court has summoned YouTuber Armaan Malik and his two wives, Payal and Kritika Malik, to appear on September 2. The summons is in response to a petition filed by Davinder Rajput, who alleges that Armaan has violated the Hindu Marriage Act by having four wives, not just two. According to the Act, individuals practicing Hinduism are allowed only one marriage at a time, making multiple marriages under Hindu law illegal.
The controversy surrounding Armaan's personal life began after rumours surfaced about him allegedly having a fourth wife, Laksh, who is reportedly the family's caretaker and manager. Armaan married Payal in 2011 and Kritika in 2018, both of whom are content creators and have appeared alongside him on YouTube and in Bigg Boss OTT 3. The petition also accuses Armaan and Payal of hurting religious sentiments by portraying themselves as Hindu deities in a video, which sparked widespread criticism.
Armaan and Payal have since apologised and taken steps to seek forgiveness, including visiting temples and meeting with a spiritual leader in Haridwar. Despite this, the court has still summoned them to address the allegations. If proven, the allegations of bigamy and religious offense could have serious legal and social consequences for Armaan and his wives.
Armaan Malik has two wives, Payal and Kritika, whom he married in 2011 and 2018, respectively. The trio gained fame after participating in Bigg Boss OTT 3. Armaan married Payal in 2011, with whom he has a son, Chirayu Malik. Six years later, Armaan married Payal's best friend, Kritika, without legally ending his first marriage. They have children together, including Tuba, Ayan and Zaid.
During their Bigg Boss ott 3 stint, Payal was eliminated first, while Armaan left during the finale week. Kritika was one of the finalists. After participating in the reality show, Payal had expressed her desire to divorce Armaan. "I am done with the drama and the hate. As long as it was about me, I was okay but now the hate is coming to my kids. This is so shocking and disgusting. I have decided to part ways with Armaan for the same reason. He can stay with Kritika while l’Il take care of the kids."
