Malayalam actor Baiju Santhosh has denied reports of altercation between him and Mollywood superstar Mohanlal during the AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) general body meeting. Santhosh called the speculations 'baseless and misleading'. His reaction came after a few news portals claimed that a verbal altercation took place between him and Mohanlal.

In a conversation with Manorama Online, Baiju said, "Some news has been doing rounds on social media, and I don't understand why certain people are trying to spread false information without knowing the truth. There is absolutely no truth to the claims being made."

Baiju Santhosh attended the AMMA general body meeting after a three-year gap, but arrived late. By the time he arrived, Mohanlal had already given his speech and the decision regarding stepping down from their posts had been made. He explained, "I was not informed about the decision prior to my speech. In fact, I wished for Mr Mohanlal to continue his role. I didn't know that he had expressed his desire to step down."

He futher revealed that his statements were taken out of context, adding, "I asked the members, 'If you support this committee, please raise your hands. Isn't it good to continue as things are now?" Let this committee continue for another two years.' I was clearly speaking in support of the current committee."

Mohanlal has resigned as president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) following the release of the Justice K Hema Committee's report, which exposed widespread sexual harassment and abuse in the Malayalam film industry. The entire executive committee, including Mohanlal, stepped down, citing moral responsibility for the allegations faced by some of its members. This decision comes after growing criticism and pressure on AMMA's leadership to take action against those implicated in the report.
