Rishi Kapoor has previously praised Alia Bhatt for her remarkable film selections. The late actor admitted in an old interview, which resurfaced on internet recently that carrying films on the shoulder at such a young age is difficult, as Alia is doing. The late actor mentioned the younger performers who were reinventing the Indian film business in a discussion on the evolving genre back in 2018. At the time, he was working on a number of projects, including The Body (2019), an Indian version of the Spanish thriller El Cuerpo (2012), Mulk (2018), Rajma Chawal (2018), and his just released film 102 Not Out (2018).
Rishi Kapoor was eager to emphasize the new energy that young actors offered to Bollywood despite his hectic schedule. Without hesitation, Kapoor mentioned Alia Bhatt as the person who most impressed him. "I admire someone like Alia Bhatt, who takes up challenging roles like in Highway and Raazi. It’s very difficult at this tender age to carry a film on their shoulders and only an actor can do that. Also, one has to be lucky enough to get such parts. Alia has been lucky and of course, she has the talent too," he said.

In fact, Alia Bhatt was always been there for the Kapoor family, especially during Rishi Kapoor's final days. During late actor's cancer treatment, she even made the trip to New York to be with him.
For the unversed, Alia Bhatt and Rishi Kapoor shared the screen in Student of the Year (2012) and Kapoor & Sons (2016). In SOTY, the late icon portrayed the Dean, while Alia played a student in her Bollywood debut. Rishi Kapoor played Amarjeet Kapoor, the grandfather of Arjun, played by Sidharth Malhotra, in Kapoor & Sons. Alia portrayed Arjun's romantic interest, Tia. Following the death of Rishi Kapoor in 2020, Alia Bhatt posted a poignant message.
Over the years, Rishi Kapoor had enthralled his audience with his on-screen roles. In his nearly 100 film appearances over the course of a five-decade career, Kapoor never missed an opportunity to dazzle audiences with his extraordinary acting skills, even in the final days before his tragic death. Unfortunately, Rishi Kapoor was diagonsed with leukemia 2018. The veteran actor departed for his celestial home on April 30, 2020, leaving his family and followers with a large hole in their hearts.
Rishi Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's bond is still among the most heartwarming remembrances of their relationship, which started with admiration and ended with intense familial love.
