Bhooth Bangla, which made a century in India, is now Akshay's 20th movie in the esteemed 100 crore club. The film is now Akshay and Priyadarshan's highest-grossing collaboration.

Bhooth Bangla, which combined spooky humour with nostalgic undertones, was released on April 17 following several delays and paid previews on April 16. It was Akshay Kumar's five-year comeback to the genre and his fourteen-year reunion with Priyadarshan. They have collaborated on films like Hera Pheri (2000), Garam Masala (2005), Bhagam Bhag (2006), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), De Dana Dan (2009), and Khatta Meetha (2010).

Bhooth Bangla carried emotional importance because it featured the late actor Asrani in a final theatrical role. The film was also a point of conversation for evoking nostalgia with Priyadarshan's previous work and Akshay Kumar's return to the horror comedy genre. With a star-studded ensemble, the film's blend of star power and nostalgia has been crucial to its box-office success.
