Pawan Singh issued a statement on Monday after his second wife, Jyoti Singh, accused him of cheating on an Instagram live-stream. The Bhojpuri superstar shared in lengthy note that when she visited him at his home in Lucknow, he treated her with the utmost respect. The actor further refuted reports that he had called the police to have Jyoti taken into custody at his residence. Singh even clarified why police were at his house when his wife visited him.

Pawan Singh has finally come out to clarify the situation following a major scene at his house earlier, in which his wife, Jyoti Singh, went live on Instagram and accused the actor-politician of harassment and adultery.

Pawan Singh wrote (in Hindi), "Main apne jeevan mein ek hi baat jaanta hoon ki janata mere liye Bhagwan hai - kya main un logon ki janbhavna ko thes pahuchaunga jinke badolat main yahan tak pahucha hoon. Jyoti Singh ji, kya yeh sach nahi hai ki kal subah aap meri society mein aayi thi, toh maine aapko sasmmaan apne ghar bulaya aur lagbhag 1 ghanta 30 minute hum dono ki baatcheet hui "

Pawan Singh, who just left the reality show Rise & Fall, emphasized that Jyoti asked him to assist her in getting into politics. He added, "Aapke dwara bas ek hi baat baar-baar kahi gayi ki 'mujhe chunav ladwaiye kaise bhi', jo ki mere bas ka nahi tha."

Additionally, Pawan Singh explained that the cops were simply at his house to observe the exchange between him and Jyoti. The singer continued, "Samaj mein yeh bhram failaya gaya ki maine police bulayi, jabki sachchai yeh hai ki police subah se wahan isliye maujood thi taaki jo bhi ho, unki upasthiti mein ho - kahin bhi aapke saath aaye logon dwara ya kisi aur ke dwara koi anhooni na ho."

What Did Jyoti Singh Allege?

Jyoti Singh posted a video of herself being asked to follow police officials to a police station after they bar her from entering Pawan Singh's house. She claims in the video that she was turned away and makes it clear that her lawsuit is about maintenance and not domestic abuse. She was heard confronting Pawan Singh about his alleged infidelity and exploitation. She also threatened to kill herself if justice is not done.

Earlier, Jyoti Singh claimed in a long Instagram post from September that she had been attempting to communicate with Pawan 'for several months' regarding 'family and political matters,' but had not heard back. Speaking to PTI, Jyoti said "We had been messaging and calling him for a long time, but he was not responding. We had no other way to talk to him, so we took to social media. He should reply to my messages and receive my calls."

After Jyoti filed a maintenance action in April 2022, demanding Rs 5 lakh per month, Pawan Singh and Jyoti's relationship has been strained.  The next hearing is scheduled for September 8, so the case is still pending.
