She was called out for her insensitive comments by the filmmaker and host Rohit Shetty during the recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode. He reminded her that the entire country is watching this show, and she should never use such words for anyone's sexual preferences.

During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, aired on JioHotstar, Rohit Shetty addressed the most-talked-about discussion inside the BB19 house around Malti's sexuality. He slammed Kunickaa for her remarks. When Rohit confronted her, Kunickaa attempted to justify her words and defend her intention, but the filmmaker quickly shut her down, saying, "Talking about Malti's sexual preference was not right. You used a word on national television. And you said it about someone whose parents, friends, colleagues — everyone is watching. The entire country is watching this show."

She continued to explain herself, citing incidents involving Farrhana and Tanya. Rohit clarified that her comment was still wrong and reminded Kunickaa of her responsibility and seniority. He added, “You’re a senior, you’re mature. You should’ve never used that word."

While Tanya expressed her disappointment, Kunickaa walked towards her and claimed that she was confirmed that Malti was a lesbian. This statement sparked debate online, with many bashing the veteran actor for her comments.
