Bigg Boss season 19 has been making headlines for several reasons including new twists, fights and contestants. One of the contestants, who has sparked debate online, is Gaurav Khaanna, after he refused to do kitchen duties. He has been receiving backlash and being questioned for his win on Celebrity MasterChef. Last week, when Kunickaa Sadanand became house captain and asked Gaurav to handle culinary duties, the actor declined. His statement that he doesn’t know how to make Indian food left fans shocked. They started trolling him. Joining the list, Bigg Boss OTT 3 fame Vishal Pandey took a dig at Gaurav.
BB 19: Vishal Pandey Takes Dig At Gaurav Khanna For Cooking Duties
Taking to Instagram stories, Vishal shared a clip of Gaurav claiming that he doesn’t know how to cook Indian food during one of the Bigg Boss 19 episodes. Along with the post, he wrote, “The same guy who won MasterChef?"
What Did Gaurav Khanna Say About Cooking In BB 19?
When Kunickaa assigned Gaurav kitchen duties, he was seen firmly refusing by saying, “Ma’am, I won’t make it. I don’t know how to prepare Indian food. The housemates will have to go hungry all day." After this, he became a meme and netizens questioned his Celebrity MasterChef win. They also called the food show scripted.
Following the trolling, Gaurav's team also addressed the matter and issued an official statement on X. The statement read, "Let’s be clear MasterChef and Bigg Boss cooking aren’t the same. At MasterChef, #GauravKhanna worked with guidance, preparing one plated dish with finesse. In #BiggBoss, it’s about cooking for people, daily meals, and no supervision. Before Celebrity MasterChef, #GauravKhanna had never cooked at all. The show was about learning, adapting, and performing under immense pressure. Winning that title was about determination, not prior skill. Trolling him and Judging him today on the basis of one statement about Indian food is unfair. We stand by you #GK."
