Border 2: The much-awaited film of Sunny Deol is slated to hit screens on the Republic Day long weekend, 2026. The first poster of the film has been out, which features Sunny Deol in an Indian Army Officer’s look once again after 28 years. In the motion poster, Deol’s character can be seen in attack mode while holding a gun. He wore the turban and dressed up like his 1997 movie Border’s character Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri. On the occasion of Independence Day, Sunny Deol himself shared the first poster of the film.

Not only that, with the post, they also announced the release date of Border 2, which is January 22, 2026. It is eyeing for Republic Day weekend, which is of 5 days. Earlier, it was reported by Bollywood Hungama that the CBFC has given green light to the titled Date Announcement Teaser No. 1 of Border 2, with a runtime of 1 minute and 10 seconds. The teaser was given a U/A 16+ certificate.

It also said that after the launch, the teaser was expected to hit the cinemas across the nation and was likely to pair it with War 2 and Coolie. However, there was no such recent reports have been found.

Border 2 features a stellar cast of actors, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh and Sonam Bajwa. Border 2 has been directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta.

It is the sequel to Border, which was released in 1997. JP Dutta's directorial movie still remains a cult classic of Indian Cinema. With terrific performances by Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty and Akshaye Khanna, the film is also counted for its gripping storyline which ignites patriotism. The film then had a massive box office collection of Rs 66.70 crore in India itself.
