Kim Seok jin aka Jin is not just entitled to the label of Mr Worldwide Handsome by his fans but is more than a physical persona. He has soothing yet powerful vocals, which have resonated over the years since his debut in the global boy band group BTS in 2013. Being the eldest and the first member of the band to register in the military services in 2022 in South Korea, he was discharged from his duty in 2024. Earlier, Jin revealed how he wanted to find his confidence as an individual artist outside of BTS. He made it happen. Jin Solo Songs Credits
BTS member Jin has released several solo tracks, both as part of BTS albums and as independent releases. He delivered Awake as part of BTS album The Most Beautiful Moment of Life: The Final. A song that resonated with Jin's emotional depth, where he is overcoming self-doubts to do more and dream more in life despite facing challenges. The next solo within the context of the band, is Epiphany, released in 2028, on the album Love Yourself: Answer. It is a track about self-love, and how to embrace and be happy with imperfections.
Tonight
Tonight was Jin’s first original solo song, which was released in 2019 as part of BTS’ sixth annual celebrations, Festa. The song was written in memory of his dogs Jjanggu and sugar gliders Eomuk and Odeng. The lyrics beautifully depicted the deep connection with his pets and the memories associated with them. He wrote the song’s lyrics with his bandmate RM. It is produced by Slow Rabbit and Hiss Noise.
Abyss
BTS band member released a song named Abyss on December 3, 2020, ahead of his birthday. A track about all his feelings and troubled thoughts, he penned it down in the form of music to share with his fans. His honest confession about his performance anxiety, insecurities, burnout and mental health at that time. This track was also co-written by RM, Pdogg and BUMZU.
Moon
Next on the list is the track Moon, which is a tribute to BTS ARMY by Jin. His solo track off Map of the Soul: 7 album, beautifully represents the connection of the band with his fans so far. This song is all about how the moon views the earth, so Jin considers himself as Moon and ARMY as his Earth. The song Moon showed a different side of Jin, with a more emotional and longing vibe.
Yours
BTS member contributed to the OST of the Korean mystery thriller drama Jirisan, starring Jun JiHyun and Ju JiHoon in 2021. He gave a theme song Yours. Jin's soaring high notes and crescendos perfectly capture the complexity of the drama's narrative, showcasing his ballad expertise.
Super Tuna
This time, Kim Seok jin proved that his songs are not only emotionally driven, rock beats but his genre list has space for fun and light-hearted tracks like Super Tuna. A song about the enjoyment of simple life pleasures like fishing, which was unlike the commercialised Kpop tracks. Jin showed his love for fishing with his vocals and also danced in the music video. The song, which was released in collaboration with Bumzu went viral on social media upon its arrival. It received immense popularity, which was unexpected.
The Astronaut
Before his enlistment, Jin gifted his ARMY with a 5-minute-long dreamy song, co-written with Coldplay, a past collaborator with the BTS band for the hit song My Universe in 2021. The oldest member of the band expressed his gratitude and love he has been showered by fans in his musical journey. A message in the form of words presented with Coldplay’s signature sound with a blend of his echoing vocal effects and synth buildups. The Astronaut beautifully depicted the emotional connection between him and his fanbase. Jin showed his full artistry side.
BTS Jin Solo Albums
He released his first album, titled Happy on November 15, 2024. Soon, after its release, it debuted on the Billboard 200 chart and secured a position on No.4. The EP consists of six tracks, opening with Running Wild along with I'll Be There, Another Level, Falling, Heart on the Window featuring Wendy of Red Velvet and Until It Reaches You. The album showed the themes focusing on his personal growth, happiness, self-discovery, and gratitude towards fans. For this EP, Jin explored different ranges to test his vocals like ballads, pop, and rock.
After almost one year, Jin came up with a second album, titled Echo, which debuted on May 16, 2025, consisting of seven tracks.
His multifaceted talent credits include hosting and cooking. He has exceptional cooking skills. He is the resident chef and is often referred to as the Resident foodie of the BTS group. Jin has been praised by renowned chefs for his culinary prowess.
He previously had his own food web series, titled 'Eat Jin', which was dubted in 2015 and concluded in 2020. The show was broadcast through a live stream on V LIVE, where he described the taste of the food by eating large quantities of food and interacting with ARMY. Jin is also a tenor and plays the guitar.
